(IDG) -- Citizens feeling nervous about the year 2000 will be able
to call a toll-free hot line for the latest information about
the infamous computer problem, according to a
statement released by President Clinton's Council on
Year 2000 Conversion.
The hot line, 1-888-USA-4-Y2K, will offer information provided by government
agencies, companies and industry groups on areas such as telecommunications,
banking, government programs and household products, the council said.
Prerecorded information will cover most common topics
and be available seven days a week, 24 hours a day,
the agency said. In addition, information specialists will
staff the hot line from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Monday
through Friday.
