(IDG) -- The Web is awash in advertising, but most surfers don't seem to mind. The latest numbers from the Internet Advertising Bureau show $422 million in second-quarter Net ad revenues – nearly double 1997's ad revenues. An INTECO study reveals that most Web site visitors feel ads are needed to keep content free, but an IPSOS-ASI analysis shows that their tolerance depends on the type of ad: Not surprisingly, visitors are more irritated by interstitials than by traditional banner ads.
