SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) - Sun Microsystems Inc., which alleges Microsoft is undermining its Java programming language, will get its day in court on Friday.
A hearing will be held in U.S. District Court in San Jose, California, on the suit filed by Sun against Microsoft.
Sun is seeking a preliminary injunction to stop Microsoft from using the "Java compatible" logo in its software products.
Sun wants an immediate remedy through an injunction, claiming damage to its Java brand because Sun alleges Microsoft's products are not compatible with Sun's.
The hearing will take place in Judge Ronald Whyte's courtroom.
The suit, filed in October, alleges Microsoft is undermining its attempts to create a universal programming language with Java. Sun alleges that products such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0, are not compatible with Sun's.
