ATLANTA (CNN) -- These days, a best-selling novel is bound to be made into a movie, but it's extremely unlikely Jane Austen -- who lived and wrote at the turn of the 19th century -- could have imagined her novels ending up on celluloid.
But with a resurgence of interest in Austen's work, her stories have indeed crossed to the big screen, and some place else she never dreamed of -- the Internet.
If you're a Jane Austen fan suffering from withdrawal waiting for the next adaptation of her work, the World Wide Web offers relief.
Austen might be shocked at today's worldwide notoriety; none of the four novels published during her lifetime were published under her name.
The Jane Austen Information Page has all six of her novels to read or study. The text is annotated -- click on certain words to learn more about characters or places.
The site also contains information about Austen's life, commentary on her work, and information about later works by other writers inspired by Austen.
The Regency Fashion page is filled with drawings of the clothing worn in Austen's 19th century England.
Check out everything from the fanciest dresses to undergarments. There are also photographs of costumes on display in museums.
Another Jane Austen Page contains a brief look at the recent films of her work, with direct links to sites with more information.
The site also offers a mailing list and information about joining the North American Jane Austen Society, along with links for other Austen sites.
But if television's more your cup of English tea, check out "Sense and Sensibility," currently showing on HBO, or a new adaptation of "Emma" coming out next month on A&E.
