OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: CNN.com Inside the Envelope Game ("Game") is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico), age 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees and their immediate families (spouses, siblings, children, household members and the spouses and children of the foregoing) of Cable News Network LP, LLLP ("CNN") (the "Sponsor"), Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Time Warner, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated entities (collectively the "Game Entities") are not eligible to enter the Game. By entering the Game, participants agree to abide by all terms of the Official Rules and Regulations applicable thereto. Subject to all local, state and federal laws and regulations. Some restrictions apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. 2. HOW TO ENTER: From January 31, 2006 - March 5, 2006 (the "Promotional Period"), entrants log onto the Game website, located at www.cnn.com/insidetheenvelope. If entrant is not a CNN.com Member Center Member, to register for the Game entrant must first register with CNN.com Member Center services by clicking on the Game banner and completing the required information. Following registration, new members of CNN.com Member Center services will each receive a password. If entrant is a CNN.com Member Center Member, entrant can simply enter his/her login and password and then e-mail address to complete the game registration. Following registration, entrant will be directed to choose a winner in each of the twenty-five (25) Academy Awards® categories, and answer two (2) tiebreaker questions. Deadline to register is 5:00 PM ET, March 5, 2006. Entrants can access the Game at any time during the Promotional Period by using a password assigned to him/her, to change or add to his/her selections. Deadline to make changes is 5:00 PM ET, March 5, 2006. Use of any automated entry software is prohibited. No mechanical reproductions or facsimiles accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, misdirected, lost, late or illegible entries. Sponsor is also not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed software transmissions which may limit an entrants ability to participate in the Game or damage to user's system as a result of participation in the Game or downloading any information necessary to participate in the Game. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel or modify the Game should any computer virus, malfunction or other cause beyond its control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Game. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. False or deceptive entries or acts, as determined by sponsors, will render the entrant ineligible. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account as determined by Sponsor. 3. HOW TO WIN: One (1) grand prize winner (the "Grand Prize Winner") will be determined by the Sponsor on or about March 7, 2006, from all eligible entries received by dates and times above. The decisions of the Sponsor will be final and binding. Grand Prize Winner will be entrant who correctly predicts the winner of the most Game categories according to the official results of the Academy Awards®. In the event of a tie, the entrant who correctly predicts the motion picture ("Movie") that wins the most awards (the "First Tiebreaker") will be the Grand Prize Winner. If more than one Movie ties for the most awards ("Most Decorated Movies"), the highest-scoring entrant that named one of the Most Decorated Movies will be the Grand Prize Winner. In the event a tie still exists between two (2) or more entrants after the First Tiebreaker, the entrant that most closely predicts the number of awards that the Most Decorated Movie won (the "Second Tiebreaker") will be the Grand Prize Winner. In the event a tie still exists, the Grand Prize Winner will be determined by random selection. The odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries received. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified by e-mail and must meet all eligibility requirements including the execution and delivery of all necessary releases. 4. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a 32" High Definition LCD HDTV at an approximate market value ("AMV") of One Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500), a Home Theater System at an AMV of Two Hundred Seventy Dollars ($270) and a One-year subscription to NetFlix at an AMV of Two Hundred Thirty Dollars ($230) (the "Grand Prize"). Total AMV of the Grand Prize is Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000). The reporting and payment of any tax liabilities incurred by the entrant as a result of this Game and any prize won are the sole responsibility of the entrant. No substitution or transfer of prize or cash redemptions permitted by winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of like value in the event the described prizes, or any portion thereof, is unavailable for any reason whatsoever. All prizes will be awarded. Allow six to eight weeks for delivery. 5. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS: By entering this Game, entrants grant Sponsor the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their names, voices, pictures and likenesses, without compensation, for the purpose of advertising and publicizing the businesses of the Sponsor and all matters related to the Game in any medium, throughout the world in perpetuity. Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign affidavits of eligibility, liability releases and, except where prohibited by law, use of name and likeness releases ("Winner Documents") and return within ten (10) days of issuance. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification. Return of the prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure of Sponsor to contact potential Grand Prize Winner based on contact information provided at registration, or failure of potential Grand Prize Winner to respond to notification attempts will result in disqualification and an alternate may be selected at the Sponsor's discretion. In the event the Grand Prize Winner declines his or her prize or fails to return completed releases, Sponsor may elect, at its own discretion, to select an alternate winner. By entering, participants agree to release the Game Entities from any and all liability claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize, or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. The Game Entities expressly disclaim any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery and/or subsequent use of the prize awarded. In the event more winner notifications are issued, or more winning prize claims are received, than the number of prizes set forth in these Official Rules due to computer, printing, seeding, human, or other error or problem, a random drawing will take place from all eligible prize claims for the prize(s) at issue to award the proper number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, computer virus or other events or causes beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control which corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the Game, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Game. If the Academy Awards® show is delayed, extended, interrupted, cancelled or shortened for any reason, the Game may be postponed, extended, shortened or terminated at the sole discretion of Sponsor. In the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such cancellation. Notice of cancellation will be posted at www.cnn.com/insidetheenvelope. 6. CONSTRUCTION: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any contestant and Sponsor, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of Georgia, or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Georgia. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. 7. OFFICIAL RULES OR WINNER'S LIST: For a copy of the rules or the winner's list (winner's list available after March 7, 2006), send a request and a self-addressed, stamped envelope (residents of VT may omit return postage) to the following address by March 5, 2006 for "Rules", and by April 6, 2006, for "Winners" (please specify CNN.com Inside the Envelope Game Rules" or "CNN.com Inside the Envelope Game Winners."
