A career soldier in a special forces unit, was due to be discharged a week later. Was married to Yael Sorek for a year and a half. They were expecting their first child.

Was to have flown to Berlin as part of a youth delegation to meet with German youth, a role for which she was chosen because she was an excellent student. Mentored the child of a disabled veteran.
