King was awarded the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end racial segregation in the United States and to bring full civil rights to all African-Americans. Here he delivers his famous "I Have a Dream" speech August 28, 1963, at the March on Washington. King was assassinated April 4, 1968.
