The Realities
Since the Soviet bloc crumbled more than seven years ago, Cuba's subsidized economy disappeared, forcing the country to survive on tourism, overseas investment and the U.S. dollar. Those who have dollars can acquire almost anything. Those who don't must survive on ration cards - a system which no longer provides enough to eat. CNN's Lucia Newman reports.
