    Invincible
    British carrier HMS Invincible

    Aircraft carrier Invincible, with 1,200 personnel on board, was deployed to the Gulf from the eastern Mediterranean in January. Warplanes from the Invincible will join U.S. airforce planes patrolling the "no-fly zone" over southern Iraq.

    Britain has also sent the warships HMS Nottingham and HMS Coventry to the Gulf.
