The best of 2007
CNN's Entertainment crew has been reading a lot, listening to a lot and watching a lot more. Here are some of our picks for the best of the year. Feel free to add your own in the comments section:
"Showbiz Tonight" Executive Producer Dave Levine: There were not a lot of TV shows that were absolutely "must-see" to me in 2007, but two definitely stood out: Producer David Daniel: Producer Rachel Wells: Producer Matt West: CNN.com producer Todd Leopold:
I for once agree with the CNN crew...there has been much to watch and listen too this past year. I have been sooo hooked on
"Man Goes Wild" and "SurvivorMan" on the discovery and science channel...that I now feel im qualified to go out in the deepest, darkest jungle....eat critters and swim thru crocodile infested waters.. I swear to Blog!! As far as music well.... I like the old stuff with real instruments and humans..like The Steve Miller Band ( The Joker) and the entire Bjork catalog (far too many to mention here....yes it has been a great year for feast your eyes and ear televison and music keep it up.....thanks.. Kraig Rasool Fort Washington Md
"Fans of Bruce Springsteen are not only devoted but articulate about why they worship the Boss. The new book 'For You: Original Stories & Photographs by Bruce Springsteen's Legendary Fans' is the work of disciples from Boise to Barcelona. The mayor of Delray Beach, Fla., says it best: 'Bruce fans are a fraternity - we share something deep and special, a relationship with the artist and with each other.'"
I tried to watch Madmen. I even tried to like it, but I just couldn't. Sterotypical characters, dialogue that sounds like speeches and boring situations. It might be better than anything else on the tube, but given whats on television that isn't much of an endorsement.
The first time I heard Amy Winehouse sing was her performance of "Rehab" live on MTV...it was painful to listen. How anybody can enjoy her music much less her voice is beyond me. Give me the true female vocalists like Pat Benetar or Amy Lee.

CNN.com critic Tom Charity's Review of "his" Best (and worst) films of 2007 is the most politically swayed choices I've ever seen. Siskel and Ebert would have triple thumb downed Charity and the inability of his feeble brain to separate politics from both movie quality and the name of the directors. "War Porn?" You obviously can only deal with fantasy. Reality totally escapes you. Go ahead Dorothy: Click your heels, ‘cause this ain’t Kansas... -
I'm glad to see Heroes on the list. It's surprisingly interesting and suspenseful, though cheesy at times. It's even made it to a best-tv-shows list on MakeFive:
