Sitcoms with (advertising) characters
A colleague, intrigued by the possibility of a sitcom starring the Geico cavemen, hopes that they aren't the only advertising characters who may get a shot at a TV show. He'd like to see a TV series starring the three guys who do the Holiday Inn ads.

Me? I still think something can be done with Terry Tate, Office Linebacker.
I absolutely LOVE Terry Tate! I think every office should have one!
Maybe the Verizon guy and Energizer Bunny can team up for a Saturday morning action-or-some-other-type hero cartoon?
I wouldn't mind seeing the sonic commercial crew (the husband, wife, friends) in a sitcom, if it promised not to last too long. . .
If Terry Tate doesn't make you laugh, you are dead inside.
you don't walk away from a t-22 paper jam! You must be out yo' mind, son!
A sitcom with cavemen would be.... brilliant! Where are the Guinness guys to market this idea when you need them? Sure, Geico only has some 30 second spots but why not make them into a 30 minute show? They could show ordinary situations and how the cavemen handle them!!! Wow...that would be funny for like...30 seconds.
What, was Ray Jay Johnson not available!?!?!?

Mr. Major Network Producer....Remind me again....beyond the Blues Brothers and Wayne's World when did any 3 minute SNL skit ever succeed as a full length feature?

Step in my office...you're fired.
"Mr. Major Network Producer....Remind me again....beyond the Blues Brothers and Wayne's World when did any 3 minute SNL skit ever succeed as a full length feature?"

Coneheads, and I guess Office Space could be considered an SNL offspring.
Terry Tate is the greatest! Still watch those clips over and over.
The problem i have with comercials becoming sitcomes that in most cases there just is not enough content to fill a 30 minute slot every week. I loved the Office linbacker comercials and still laught to this day when I watch them. But a sitcome on this might feel like a neverending episode of Saturday Night Live. You can only beat on a gag so many time before it just becomes annoying.
Ought to do a Geico Gecko crossover with Rap Cat featuring the L.CaseiImmunitas Family.
Bill Shatner's Priceline Negotiator ads are a hoot, and the Geico gecko could use some screen time as well.
I think the SOUR PATCH KID should get his own show. LOL HE IS GREAT!!!!
