Peter Boyle, 1935-2006
Peter Boyle is dead. The actor, best known for his role as Frank Barone in "Everybody Loves Raymond," was 71.

Many obituaries are rightly going to play up Boyle's performances in "Raymond" and the film "Young Frankenstein," but I'd like to add a plug for one of my favorite films: "The Candidate."

In that 1972 movie, Boyle plays Marvin Lucas, the cynically efficient campaign manager of Bill McKay (Robert Redford). McKay, though the son of a former governor, is a political neophyte, and it's Lucas who must guide him through the electoral maze of a California senatorial campaign.

Though Redford gives a great performance -- perhaps his best -- Boyle is the engine of the movie, a ball of energy constantly goading the ever-reluctant McKay onward. He can be blunt, he can be less than scrupulous (and he chips away at McKay's ideals, one by one), but when the election is over and McKay (spoiler!) comes out on top, even the newly minted senator knows who's in charge.

"What do we do now?" he famously asks Lucas in the movie's last line.

Unbelievably, Boyle wasn't nominated for an Oscar for "The Candidate" -- he wasn't for anything, not "Joe" or "Young Frankenstein" or "Monster's Ball" -- and despite several Emmy nominations, he only won one, that for an "X-Files" guest spot. Which only goes to show that sometimes the best performances look so easy they're often overlooked. Peter Boyle, to his credit, seldom was.
Holy Crap!

Heaven must now be complete with its cast of crumudgins, Caroll O'Conner, Redd Foxx and now Peter Boyle. Rest in Peace my fren, you will always be a big hit in my book. You gave me more to smile about in this world.
Everybody Loved Peter Boyle! We'll miss you.
He will forever be the grumpy old man we've grown to love on 'Everybody loves Raymond.' I'll miss you, Mr. Boyle. Many times, you were the only reason I stuck with watching that show for so long.
Loved watching him. Will be missed.
Sad loss for us all. Boyle also recently appeared in a couple basic but very funny bits on 'Mind of Mencia', giving away an obvious affinity that the host had for Boyle's reputation and work. That the 2 very different men found common ground in comedy speaks volumes about their wisdom, but about Boyle's defiance of his health problems & desire to do good work right until the end.
Peter Boyle was a classic. He was funny in the classic sense, his delivery was timeless. He didn't need to rely on profanity or some of the other tired routines that are used today. One of the really good ones to not always get his credit during his time, I hope people will show it to him now.
I cannot believe that the Peter Boyle obituaries do not mention, "Steelyard Blues," a 1972 movie that starred Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland, and Peter Boyle. This film is a classic and Boyle stole the show. I believe this was the movie that established his comedic talents, not "Young Frankenstein."
<3 Boyle in Johnny Dangerously. See you at the Club 25 Pete. /salute
When I was a child this was the man who, so eloquently, erased by fear of monsters with his performance as Frankenstein. He will be greatly missed.
Thanks for the laughs, the show would not have been what it was without you.
Going to miss Peter Boyle and his commedy. He was so funny in Young Frankenstein and be made Everybody Loves Raymond. Bless him and his family, laugh with you later...
he was a wonderful actor, just seeing his face made me laugh. he will be missed.....
R.I.P. Peter, You were the best!!!
Adeiu mon ami, you will be missed. You will remain forever in our hearts and hopefully forever on our televisions!
Have to concur with Todd's first posting concerning "The Candidate." A smart, relevant, and witty study of the electoral process. Have long loved Peter Boyle's performance in that film and Robert Redford, of course, is no slouch. It is indeed a shame that he did not receive the recognition he deserved for the film, but like so many, he seemed to do his job quietly well and then go home.

I can just hear him at the Pearly Gates: "What do we do now?"
i am so very sadden of the passing of this very funny man.
his X-FILES turn ranks among the greatest ever filmed performances. ever. ever.
I know I am not the first to say it but I think his signature phrase truly does say it all-HOLY CRAP! He will be missed. He was a very talented actor and I loved watching every night to see what Frank and Marie were bickering about.
What a great actor. His portrayal of Frank Barone always reminded me of my grandfather who passed away 4 years ago. And now Mr. Boyle is gone.

May he rest in eternal peace.
We'll miss you. We thought they going to give you that last Emmy for "Everybody Loves Raymond", because you deserve it and we felt so sad that day. Today we're so sad we were seeing our father through you.
Marie: I'm not a just a trophy wife, Frank.

Frank: What contest in hell did I win?!

From that moment, he was my favorite.

catch ya later Mr. Boyle
Never liked being bald until there was Peter Boyle. He mirrored so much more love, homor and talent than his wide part. What a guy! What a patriarch! Peace!
I am so so sorry to hear of Peter's passing,he'd probably find that line funny if you know what I mean! We have enjoyed him for years and he will be surely missed.Just a year and a half ago I lost my father from heart problems also and our thoughts go out to all his family and friends.
When I was stationed in Germany with the Air Force in the mid 1980's, we would watch Young Frankenstein virtually every weekend (two years). Peter Boyle is part of the "classic-ness" that is Young Frankenstein and yet he was not recognized much for his work. For some reason though, I don't think that bothered him too much. His work recently with Carlos Mencia demonstrates that it is not always about awards....It's the work!

21 Gun Salute from your Air Force crew!

You will be missed.
I am genuinely sad: for so many years, Peter Boyle gave me joy and fear; a reason to think and a reason to cry. Laughter 'til I cried...and now, tears again. Rest in the arms of the Lord, Peter Boyle: I'm sure you entered the Gates to a standing ovation.
Holy Crap! I will miss this delightful curmudgeon in all his grumpy glory. I'm so sorry for his family and send them my prayers and deepest sympathy. My Dad died before the holidays, too.
We should all be so fortunate as to have had a life that has touched so many. Peter Boyle was just that for so many. God Bless you Mr. Boyle, you will truly be missed.
I didn't know Peter Boyle, the actor. I knew Peter Boyle only secondhand, but I know he was a good man, a caring man. Seven years ago, my middle daughter was in a horrific car accident in Ohio and had a severe brain injury. Almost 90% of those with her injury go into persistent vegetative states. Almost a tenth die. So we had a lot to deal with. Peter Boyle, who did not know us, heard about the situation through family friends in New York, and offered to pay for a medical flight home to California if my daughter needed one. Miracles happen, and she walked onto a commercial jet twelve days after the accident, but Peter Boyle's thoughtful generosity will always be appreciated. He and his family are in our prayers.
I'm so sorry to hear that Peter Boyle died and I'm more sorry that it was from complications from Multiple Myeloma. My mother died from this desease 2 years ago I know how hard it must be for his family. It's hard to loose good people to cancer..Specially a love one and Im sure Peter was loved.
He will be missed,a great ol' guy, loved him on Raymond.
Peter Boyle meets St. Peter -- at the pearly gates. Somehow, Boyle could make that entertaining.

Peter Boyle made this world a better place. He'll be missed.
I will truly miss Peter Boyle. Not only did he crack me up with his monster antics in Young Frankenstein, he was able to let me see my father in through, because not only did he act like my father in Everybody Loves Raymond, he looked like my father. He was a wonderful comedic actor that will be missed by all. Thank you Mr Boyle for puttin on the ritz.
Saw him in Young Frankenstein when I was at school and have been watching him nearly everyday lately on english tv as Frank Barone, he always reminded me of my dad ( who passed away in 1995 ), what a brilliant actor, a smashing bloke and a great loss to his family, his friends and the rest of us.
I hope Peter's family finds some comfort in the fact that their father/husband made so many people laugh, again and again, so many times.
So sad, I loved his work in Young Frankenstein very much.
Everybody loves Raymond was great too, but he will forever be the tap dancing monster of my heart.
I can still picture Joe sitting in the bar ranting...and I smile thinking about all the laughs he gave me on "Raymond". He will be missed.
Also starred in "Where the Buffalo Roam" as a lawyer defending youths arrested for marijuana
I'm very sad to see that Peter Boyle has passed on. In some ways, he was like my own father, but always funny and a wonderful actor.

May his family and friends be strong at this time.

Thank you Peter for your service of comedy.

Rest In Peace
My favorite Peter Boyle role was the joyful asylum escapee in "Steelyard Blues." I still quote "That sounds like a job for The Eagle!" after all these years.
I LOVED Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein, that was such a great movie, particularly the tap dancing scene (Puttin' on the Ritz) and also when he finds his way into the blind man's cottage (the soup and cigar part)...it was SOOOO funny

So very true. He was so good, it was scary.
Peter Boyle was funny, tough, warm and over the years, my entertainment. For all the great enjoyment you gave me over the years, I want to say I'll miss you. Thank you for the performances you gave - you won an academy award in my mind long ago. Good bye Peter
What a sad day for all of us that loved "Everybody Loves Raymond". He will truly be missed.

God Bless His Soul.

SLA
He was like my dad who died very young, so each time I watched Raymond and saw 'Frank', I smiled because he gave me back my dad. Thank you Peter.
You will be greatly missed, Mr. Boyle. THank you for the laughs..God Bless.
No, no, no, no, nooooo...this artist's defining moment for me was as Lazlo, aka The Brown Buffalo, aka Samoan sumo wrestler, Hunter Thompson's (Bill Murray's) sidekick in "Where the Buffalo Roam."

The man had comic genius, no doubt. I wonder if he believes in God and heaven now...
Great man, great show, may he rest in peace forever. Condolensces from Harshavat family.
Peter Boyle was funny. I rarely watched Raymond. Being a black woman, I felt the show would/could not relate to anything I cared about. But, Peter Boyle always made me laugh, the few times I did watch the show. I can watch him in the Frankenstein movie over and over and over. When the little girl flew into her bedroom, I laughed for at least five minutes.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences,to the Boyle family.I will miss him dearly,as he was a fixture in our home through many a show.My daughter is showering him with her wings as we speak.
Sending "butterfly kisses" his way .God Bless
classic is definitely the correct description of this well respected actor. his performances appeared effortless and his characters were lucky to be given life by him. i will miss watching him and wondering what he was like when he wasn't acting. RIP
He was the perfect "father-in-law.." I will never forget when he would hold the twins and sniff their little bald heads...Ray would say, "Pop, what are ya doin?" and Frank (Boyle) would reply, "Ahh, the youth, I'm suckin in the youth!" Some of the best stuff on TV...in a day and age when everything is crime this and legal that, a show like Raymond and an actor like Boyle will be sorely missed....
holy crap! i can rest my fears of there being a Dream Team 2- Thank god!
I just want to thank the Lord for letting us have this wonderful funny man. I am sure his family must be very proud of him. His memory will live on every time I say "Holy Crap!".
Young Frankenstein is and always will be one of my favorite movies. Thanks for the wonderful performances in all your movies and TV roles.

You gave us years of laughter and joy.
His work in that X-Files episode was pure perfection.
I am very sorry to hear of this loss. My prayers go out to his friends and family. Everybody loves Peter!
What a sad day this is. Peter Boyle will be sorely missed. I really enjoyed watching him perform. Even when he played a dislikeable character as he did in Monsters Ball, but most especially in his likeable roles such as the monster in Young Frankenstein and as Raymond's father on T.V. I'm very sorry for his death. I wish we would have had more time with him to experience more of his greatness, but I'm very happy that we witnessed what we did of him. He was great.
Holy Crap!

I'll miss him! I loved his performance in Young Frankenstein and Raymond. :(

Rest In Peace
I'm so saddened by this news. I love Peter Boyle's character on Raymond. I agree that Raymond is one of the best shows on tv today.
Peter, you will be sorely missed. 'Putting on the Ritz' will never sound the same again.
Obit failed to mention movies "The Friends of Eddie Coyle" where he played a bartender/hitman capturing all the subtle nuances of Boston and the bigoted dad in "Monster's Ball."

Also a classic turn on SNL in dueling Brando impersonations with John B.

We'll miss ya, Pete
How sad that a person who has brought a smile to my face so many times with his wonderful acting abilities has passed away. He will be missed but forever loved for all those smiles! Rest in peace Mr. Boyle.
I am very sadden to hear that Peter has passed on. I laugh every time I see in charater Frank Barone. Tonight when I watch the re-runs for the 100th time that laughter will be mixed with tears.

God bless you Peter Boyle.

HOLY CRAP!
in times when people have to watch what they do and say, it was a breath of fresh air to watch peter's role in Raymond. He often said things people only dared think. Good for you. Acting is a reflection of life. Thanks for the laughs.
Thank you for making me laugh, though not familiar with your old works, I was enlightend to the point of hesterics when I first watched Young Frankenstine, or is that Frankensteen? You will be missed.
From Young Frankinstein to Raymond you suppied my family and I with a lifetime of laughs. Thank You and God Bless
Peter Boyle was such entertainment to my family and myself. I'm sorry he was taken so early in life. We will always remember him. Good Wishes to his wife and children.

Proud to count him as a fellow alum of West Philadelphia Catholic High School. He made us laugh, the greatest gift. Rest in Peace.

He was a great talent, and his performances made the entertainment world a better place. Saw "The Candidate" again the other night, and was reminded how his performance is so timeless- and the best character in the film. His one episode turn on the X-files ranks as one of the top performances (if not the top) on that great show; I kept watching that show for years hoping an episode could match that one. Sad that we won't be able to see more of his work. Blessings to his family.
He made me laugh when I needed it. He will definitely be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
HOLY CRAP says it all.
A sad day.
WHERE THE BUFFALOE ROAM....MY ATTORNEY, MY DEAR FRIEND, MY AMBASSADOR INTO THE WEIRD. YOU WILL BE MISSED BYE MORTAL MAN, BUT WILL NOW JOIN ME IN HOGS HEAVIN! I WAS WRONG, THE SWINE AREN'T EVER SORTED...WE ARE THE RUN OF THE LOT!!!!
You will be missed Peter.
Another classic exchange:

Marie: Your father has been bringing home useless items for 40 years.

Frank: You were item number one.

That is just one of so many priceless lines.

Rest in peace. Raymond wasn't complete until you showed up. I told my fiancee that Frank was who I was going to be in my later years.
Great Actor. May his soul rest in peace
Truly a heartbreaking loss! He was such a wonderful person and a fantastic actor. I was a fan of his before he took the role of Frank Barone, but through that role he became one of my all time favorite actors. I watch him every night on ELR and I will watch tonight with a heavy heart. He had a wonderful presence and amazing timing. My heart goes out to his family, as well as his "family" at Everybody Loves Raymond. He will be greatly missed.
The best Frankenstein ever...Holy Crap yo will be missed..Rest in Peace
From Young Frankenstein to XFiles to Raymond, you were always a joy to watch Mr. Boyle.

Thank you for the wonderful memories. May the up and coming pretty boys of today learn from your example.
Peter Boyle was my idol. When I watched him on Raymond in many ways he reminded me of my own father. He will be missed
I lived in India most of my life and Peter Boyle was unanimously the most favorite character on 'Everybody loves Raymond' among my friends.
To the actor who made me and my friends laugh daily.
Cheers Peter. Rest in Peace. You left us too soon, but we will never forget and will continue to laugh and enjoy the wonderful acting you gave us.
My kids and I just started watching ELR in re-runs and Boyle's comedic timing is impeccable. I vividly remember how he (and Gene Hackman) stole the show with the soup scene in Young Frankenstein. He will be missed!
Ray:
Quam bene vivas verfert, non quam diu.
Quad nesciunt eos non interficiet!

Requiescat in Pace :(
holy crap

the scene in young frankenstien with gene hackman playing the old blind man was so funny i fell off my chair.
I'm truly saddened by Peter Boyle's death. I was looking forward to seeing him in movies and television. He was brilliantly hilarious. I will miss him.
God bless you for years of laughter Mr. Boyle. May you rest in peace....
I love him. He will be missed. His work on the X-Files, Young Frankenstein and Raymond is stellar. My prayers to his family. He's making them laugh in heaven!!!!
Peter Boyle will be missed so much. I cannot get enough of Everybody Loves Raymond for it makes me laugh and has become a part of my every day..He was such a wonderful man that the world will truly miss! God bless you Peter we will miss you
The acting world has lost a great man, a man with a stlye all his own. there will not be another like him ever. He had to be one of the funniest men i have ever seen. i send my best wishs out to his friends and family for there loss.

justin leblanc
What a sad loss for the world--thanks for all the smiles and laughs, Mr. Boyle. You'll be missed.
Peter Boyle will be missed dearly. The show should have been called "Everybody loves Frank". He was by far the funniest on the show. 'Holy crap' has become a household slogan - at least at my place....
Great actor . . . great man. His appearance on the "X-Files" was definitely one of my favorite. And "Young Frankenstein" - GENIOUS! The scene with Gene Hackman is comic brilliance! Wow 'em in heaven like you've wowed us here, big guy!
My first exposure to Mr. Boyle was the film "Joe". Alot of us college kids saw and loved that movie. Seems Mr. Boyle was an artist who really worked at his craft. RIP.
There are many reasons I watch films. I look at the actors, and, if one of he actors I know I will enjoy is in the film, I watch, just for thier role. Peter Boyle has and always will be one of those actors for me.
Peter will be sorely missed. He was an actor's actor. As Frank, he added that special touch to "Everybody Loves Raymond."

May God bless Peter, his family, and friends. One consolation is this: Now Peter is with God, and His heavenly angels.
He was the funniest guy ever on telivision show.
Whenever Camera goes on his face
before he speaks ,you start laughing
thats how he was.
Another comedian in Heaven. What a laugh riot it will be when we all get up there.
May you rest in peace Peter. You have given all so many smiles.
You will be so sadly missed by all of us.
I watch the show religiously and am deeply saddened by the news. His character reminds me of my own grandfather who died about the same age in 1989. The kind of character he played was, I would fear him one day and be made to laugh the next. Rest in Peace Mr. Boyle. (Holy Crap, we lost a great actor)
I think he was equally awesome in Johnny Dangerously
Ah what a great actor, I truly enjoy watching him and his great timing on the show "Everybody Loves Raymond" I will always remember him in Malcom X as the cop who said the famous line ,after the march scene outside the hospital. He was a sweet lovable character actor and will be greatly missed by his fans. May his eternal light shine forever.
Peter Boyle was one of the two actors (the other one is Ed ONeill Al Bundy) that I did appreciate for their way of seeing the family: the funny way. Those two guys made hard family moments pass a lot easier Life is short, with or without humor. Peter brought smiles and humor in our lives Well miss him!
Condolences to Mr. Boyle's family and friends. He was a warm, funny, giant of a man. Thanks for leaving us so much to remember you by.
I would just like Mr. Boyle's wife, daughters and friends like his "Barone family" to know I am very sorry for their loss. The 'Barones' still visit my home nearly every evening as I prepare dinner.I laugh out loud. Holy Crap, I will miss him.

After hearing the news of Peter Boyles passing my wife and I both teared up as we had just finished watching a rerun of Raymond and his chracter was fresh in our heads. It is a deep loss in that you realy feel like he is a grandfather that you know very well and love his crude remarks. I just hope that he can bring his humor into heaven and entertain all of our loved ones in the afterlife. Peter, we will miss you greatly and only hope that your early passing will inspire others to bring your sense on laughter to the world and keep a smile on our faces everyday. Although I have never met you I feel that I have lost someone close as your sense of humor has kept a smile on my face even during the harder times in life.
Peter Boyle, your are going to be missed, I always hoped that the cast would get together for a network special; but thats gone now...if they ever did the most important gear in that machine would be missing and it just would not run right. Thanks for the hours of laughter that you brought to my family and I. "GOD BLESS YOU"
:o(

Another real actor gone.

Very sad.
He was one of my favorite actors of all time. I am so glad he has left behind such great films on the big and small screen to watch over and over. Peter Boyle will be missed greatly. Thank you Peter for bringing such joy and humor to the world.
What a great actor, you will be missed!

R.I.P.
I was saddened to hear of Peter Boyle's passing. Young Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies, but my absolute favorite performance was the X-Files episode he was in. You will be missed.
I was saddened to hear of Peter Boyle's passing. He was truly a talented actor who often made my famiy laugh with his role on 'Raymond.' Perhaps saddest of all, though, is his admission that he left Christian study behind, as the article about him stated, for "the pull of the world and the flesh."
Peter Boyle was a great actor and played a wonderful character on "Raymond", but what was he really like?
A man whom always made us all laugh in our household when we tuned in to watch Everybody Loves Raymond. He was the reason why we watched this show and are thankful that his talents will continue to play on our television screen in syndication - - - and DVD.

May you rest in peace Mr. Boyle. You will be missed by everyone whom you brought joy & laughter to.
I was so sad to hear that Peter Boyle had passed away. As I was watching reruns of "Everybody Loves Raymond" last night, the network showcased a number of scenes containing Peter. I knew immediately that something had happened... Peter, you will truly be missed.
I am positive I am not the only one who will miss that subtle sparkle in his eye. Just looking at him on the screen made me want to smile...Everybody loves Peter.
Just flat out going to miss this man! His dance number in Frankenstein was wonderfully over the top. Sad when talent like this leaves, as it never really will be replaced.
We are sadden for the loss of peter boyle. We loved watching him on Everyone Loves Raymond. He was extremely funny in that show. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Peter I enjoyed watching you as the father on the show you made me always laugh. I will miss you a lot.
You know, I never got the opportunity to meet Mr. Boyle. Oh how I would have loved to. He was by far one of the best actors out there. I never got the chance to meet my grandpa. That said, I just envisioned him as someone like Frank Barone. He was the world's grandpa.

I first saw him as Clyde Bruckman in The X-Files. He was fantastic. I lived off the X-Files. That episode-Clyde Bruckman's Final Response-sticks out for a couple reasons. One being it was set in my home area. More importantly, it had the great Peter Boyle. He deserved that emmy, and he deserved to receive many more.

It's odd how you form connections to people you never meet, and thus feel such a deep sense of loss when they leave us. A person never truely knows just how much they are loved until they pass. Well, Mr. Boyle, you now know just how much we all loved you. Say hello to my dad fro me-he'd have loved you too! Rest in peace.
HOLY CRAP!!!! comic genius.....will be missed....RIP
YOU'LL BE MISSED.YOU REMINDED ME OF MY DAD THATS WHY I LOVED THE SHOW. YOU WHERE A FUNNY MAN.THANKS FOR THE LAUGHS.
Please forgive me, but I cant use words like miss or loss when I speak of you Mr. Boyle. Your performances will always be a part or our lives. So how can we miss you? You are forever with us. You invited us into your life long before we were smart enough to invite you into our homes. Thank you so much for that Peter. Your character of Frank is a role model for all us men. We can only try to live up to your excellent example of being a man with an attitude in an old bath robe.

Bless your family at this time.
Sorry to hear of Peter Boyle's passing.
We enjoyed him in Australia.
Best wishes to his family and friends.
I can see him as Frankenstein - brillant!
He's now playing to another where he will also be enjoyed and loved.
BRAVO!
Of the Raymond cast, only two members deserved Emmys - Brad Garrett and Peter Boyle. Sadly Boyle was repeatedly overlooked - which is tragic, considering the number of pointless Emmys handed out and yet another example of how worthless the Emmys really are. Boyle was the best part of an otherwise weak show. He will be sadly missed.
Peter Boyle you will be missed
I've always loved Peter Boyle although I have not seen all his movies.
And not to overstate a point but anytime I thik of the "Puttin on the Ritz" scene. I laugh out loud!
Thank you Mr. Boyle for many, many laughs.
You were the best. You were the main reason why I liked "Everybody Loves Raymond" so much. You made the show a hit. You will be missed.
Who would have thought that a gruff character would have captured our minds and hearts like Peter Boyle. Our family came to enjoy "Everyone Loves Raymond" after it had ceased taping. The character of Frank will live on forever. God Bless Peter Boyle.
Absolutely one of the best TV series actors of my lifetime. Definitely loved his work. Will miss him deeply.
I actuallly have had a crush on Peter Boyle since his appearance in Young Frankenstein. I adored Frank and Marie Barone because they captured so many of the experiences we recall with our own parents and grandparents.
I loved his personal humble charm and agree with others he was WAY overlooked in the award shows. What a shock to lose him and my heart goes out to his wife, daughters and cast of Raymond, all who I know are greiving.
RIP, Peter...
Peter Boyle also adds to his credit- Malcolm X- he was a racist police officer in that spectacular movie--how could anyone forget that. I'm sure that he has also played many other small roles, that also stick out in our minds.
We will miss such a great man. Thank you Peter for the laughs and the memories.
I believe Peter Boyle did get an Oscar nomination for JOE. Bit of trivia, the hippie daughter that he shot at the end was a young Susan Sarandon. Great Movie.
I've always been glad he escaped the grasp of the Christian Brothers, as I did!!
Peter Boyle was so good in the X-Files. He creeped me out and deserved that Emmy!!!!!

I was so disappointed that Peter Boyle never received an Emmy for his role as Frank Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond". Brad Garret was great, but Boyle deserved the same recognition.

Our family watches "Raymond" every evening after dinner. Peter Boyle is always a hoot to watch - great comedic timing and the chemistry between the cast was fantastic.

Peter Boyle will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. It must be tough during this holiday season.

God bless the family and Rest In Peace Peter Boyle.
Peter Boyle blew me away in an episode of the X-Files. He played a man who can tell you when and how you would die. Being chased by a serial killer he ends up with Mulder and Scully of course Mulder prodding him to tell the future and the ever skeptical Scully. Peters performance in this episode was outstanding...I only wish I could give you a name of the episode but the X-Files does not name them.
Peter Boyle was an excellent actor who did not get the credit he deserved. His portrayal of Frank Barone was classic - he should have received many awards for that role. It's a shame that in this life, you are seldom appreciated until you're gone. Thank you for many night of etertainment watching you act. Like I said earlier - A CLASS ACT.
He was a true gentleman and a fabulous actor! The sad part of his passing will be there can NEVER be another Everybody Loves Raymond show without him! He was an important part of the FANTASTIC chemistry All of the actors brought to the show. God bless him and his family. He will truly be missed. Thank you for the memories we can have on DVD. Love all of you!
