An inside look at auditioning for 'The View'

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Since Debbie Matenopolous vacated her anchor seat on ABC's "The View" in early January the show has been on a quest to find her replacement. Although Barbara Walters, executive producer of the live, all-women talk show, says "every third person in the country wants to try out," only four people actually get the chance.

Amy Kean, a writer for the New York Post, is contestant number two. Like each potential co-host, Kean got just two days to prove herself, which she says is both exciting and a challenge. "The only difficult part is, you're supposed to have this great rapport with these women, who are basically strangers," she says.

What's a day in the life of an anchor auditionee like? CNN Showbiz Today's Laurin Sydney went to the set to find out.
