Model Luciana Gimenez would neither confirm nor deny she's carrying Mick Jagger's child

Jagger's lover appears before media

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (CNN) -- The model accused of breaking up the marriage of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall made a public appearance on Thursday. Luciana Gimenez presented her latest swimsuit calendar to the media at a Rio discotheque, then spoke to reporters. Six months pregnant and surrounded by press and flashing cameras, Gimenez neither confirmed nor denied that her unborn child was fathered by Jagger. "I will not speak on that subject," she said. "Total silence, I am mute."

Hall reportedly filed for divorce after learning that Jagger, the frontman for the legendary rock band the Rolling Stones, had gotten Gimenez pregnant. It has been reported that Hall is suing Jagger for $50 million.

Moceanu

Dominique Moceanu starting fresh in Florida

ORLANDO, Florida (CNN) -- Olympic gold-medal gymnast Dominique Moceanu has moved to Orlando from Houston to live with veteran coach Rita Brown, hoping to revive her career following a falling-out with her parents, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Moceanu, 17, who won Olympic gold as a member of the 1996 U.S. team in Atlanta, was declared an adult after a legal dispute in which she accused her parents of squandering the money she earned in sports. In December, she won a 12-month restraining order against her Romanian-born father after a Texas judge ruled he had used violence against her.

"I want to put the past behind and start fresh with a new future," Moceanu said. The gymnast, now 10 inches taller than she was as a 4-foot-4, 14-year-old in 1996, said she hoped to compete in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

Previns ending 17-year marriage

EDGARTOWN, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Heather Mary Previn has filed for divorce from her husband, conductor Andre Previn. Mrs. Previn, 50, cited "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce complaint, and is seeking custody of the couple's 15-year-old son and an unspecified amount of alimony and child support. Mrs. Previn, who lives on Martha's Vineyard with her son, sells jewelry at her Edgartown store, SQN.

The complaint was filed Monday. Andre Previn, 69, is a composer and conductor whose work has earned him multiple Grammy and Academy Awards. He lives in New York. The couple has been married for 17 years.

Peckinpaugh

Anchorwoman wins $8.4 million in discrimination suit

HARTFORD, Connecticut (CNN) -- Janet Peckinpaugh, former anchorwoman for WSFB, has been awarded $8.4 million by a jury. Peckinpaugh had accused her former employer of age and sexual discrimination after she was fired at the age of 44, just days after her newscast pulled in its best ratings ever. At the time, she was making $250,000 a year. The jury ruled gender, not age, was the reason she was let go.

After the ruling, Peckinpaugh said this should send a message to other news stations who consider getting rid of female anchors for the wrong reasons. "My fight is for women because I have seen that the age factor has really hurt us," she says. "Our generation ... is not going to walk away lightly. We are not going to go away. We're not going to say, 'OK, we're in our 40s. We'll go away and you don't have to see us anymore.' Why should we? And I don't think that people want us to, either."

Acts from Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil entertaining Disney audience

ORLANDO, Florida (CNN) -- Cirque du Soleil has joined forces with Disney. The critically acclaimed, Montreal-based troupe of acrobats, gymnasts, dancers and clowns -- many of them street performers recruited from around the world -- has made Orlando's Walt Disney World its third permanent U.S. venue, joining two Las Vegas shows already in performance. It premiered on Thursday night.

"We call this new show La Nouba," the director, Franco Dragone, said. "Like every Cirque du Soleil show, it is unique. Even if you have seen every other performance by Cirque du Soleil, you still have seen nothing like La Nouba. We have reinvented ourselves, just as we always do." Disney's design and engineering team, known as the Imagineers, built the $27 million, 1,671-seat theater for La Nouba at Downtown Disney.
