Tommy Lee Jones says media 'exploited' his fall

HARLINGEN, Texas (CNN) -- Tommy Lee Jones is upset with the media over its coverage of his recent fall from a horse during a polo match. Jones, who suffered bumps and bruises in the accident, says he feels exploited by the coverage. "The only thing that's scary is the way the media sensationalized and exaggerated and flat lied about it in order to increase their ratings," Jones says in Sunday's (Harlingen) Valley Morning Star. "I feel insulted by having been exploited by the media." Jones, who was thrown from his horse and stepped on, was taken by helicopter to Houston, where doctors determined his injuries weren't serious. The Oscar-winning actor said that type of accident "happens to polo players all the time."

Smith

Will Smith wants to be three blockbusters in one

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Rapper and blockbuster actor Will Smith says his career might be successful, but he's just getting warmed up. The entertainer says he wants his career to encompass everything from comedy to drama to action films. "It would be a combination of Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy and Arnold Schwarzenegger," Smith said in Sunday's Los Angeles Times. "No one has ever been able to successfully cross that range." Smith, 30, first got his fame as a rap singer, then had a TV hit with the sitcom "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." He later had lead roles in the smash movies "Independence Day" and "Men in Black," and he's now starring the upcoming action-thriller "Enemy of the State," co-starring Gene Hackman. Smith says he also plans to portray boxing legend Muhammad Ali. "With every film you take on, people need to be saying `He can't do that,'" Smith said. "You need to take that kind of leap. People need to think it was a bad choice."

Kate Moss checks in to psychiatric clinic

LONDON (CNN) -- Supermodel Kate Moss says she's been partying too much and has checked herself into a London clinic to be treated for exhaustion, The Mirror newspaper reports. "I've been doing a lot of hard work and too much partying," the paper quoted Moss, 24, as saying. An unidentified source told the paper she checked into The Priory, an expensive private psychiatric clinic in Roehampton, southwest London, last week after suffering a "mini-collapse." "I wasn't happy with the way my life was going and so I decided to take a step back and assess my life and future," Moss was quoted. "I want to be totally responsible for myself. And this is the place where I can get the peace and quiet to start the process." As a teen-ager, Moss led the fashion world's so-called "waif look" that some critics dubbed "heroin chic." She has denied ever taking heroin.

Springsteen

The Boss says rap is the music of the people

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Bruce Springsteen was credited with giving voice to the working class when his songs climbed charts in the 1970s and '80s. But now the Boss says rap -- not rock -- reflects the voice of the people today. "That desire to be heard, to have a voice that can be heard, that seems to be at the core of a lot of the music that I wrote," the Boss says in the November 16 issue of Time magazine. "More of those issues are dealt with in hip-hop today than in rock music. Maybe those things are felt more in the hip-hop community, those kinds of immediate frustrations." Springsteen says he's even put together a record that has hip-hop influences. "Eventually, I'm going to find a way to get this music out to the people," said Springsteen, whose latest release, "Tracks," hits stores this week.
