Sharon Stone denies report than she's pregnant

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Sharon Stone issued a statement Monday denying a report that she is pregnant. According to the New York Post, which is relying on unidentified sources, Stone is in the first trimester of a pregnancy. But Stone says the report was baseless and a thoughtless invasion of her privacy.

Stone married San Francisco Examiner executive editor Phil Bronstein in February. "I'm ready for motherhood because I've found the perfect partner," Stone told a British magazine in May. "So we make love every single moment than we get a chance." Stone, 40, rose to fame with her role as a dangerous seductress in the steamy "Basic Instinct."

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen's mom finds her calling with gay causes

SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) -- Betty DeGeneres, mother of actress Ellen DeGeneres, says she has found a new mission in life: spokeswoman for gay causes. She says ever since her daughter came out of the closet she has been recognized on the street, with some people stopping to pour their hearts out to her. She says it happened so often she has since quit her job as a speech therapist and taken the high-profile position with the National Coming Out Project. "It feels like my mission in life. I just jumped in at the deep end," she said.

Adams

'Dilbert' creator goes live

NEW YORK (CNN) -- "Dilbert" cartoonist Scott Adams has taken his comic strip to the stage. Adams gave his first ever live show on a New York cabaret stage, wearing a corporate-type outfit and firing off one-liners and quips about the strip in an hour-long show that relied heavily on cartoons flashed up on a screen. He'll give another show next week in Los Angeles.

"Dilbert" is a popular comic-strip lampoon on corporate life, featuring a bookish-looking office worker with a permanently curled tie, a sarcastic dog, and a bumbling boss with pointy hair.

Keillor's "Wobegon Boy"

Keillor's Lake Wobegon comes to life on trail

ALBANY, Minnesota (CNN) -- Radio host and author Garrison Keillor is allowing a new $1.5 million bicycle trail in central Minnesota to be dubbed the Lake Wobegon Trail. State government officials sought Keillor's approval to use the name, which comes from Keillor's Minnesota Public Radio show "A Prairie Home Companion," broadcast weekly on National Public Radio affiliate stations across the country.

His weekly comic monologues on "Prairie Home" are set in Lake Wobegon, his mythical hometown, where "the women are strong, the men are good-looking and the children are above average." He has also written a number of books on his Lake Wobegon tales.

Keillor also plans to attend the trail's grand opening on Wednesday. Much of the money for the 28-mile-long trail came from a federal program to fund bicycle trails. The trail was built on an abandoned railroad bed.
