LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Two rappers are in trouble with the law after separate incidents in California. Grammy-winning rapper Coolio was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and possessing marijuana after he was pulled over for driving on the wrong side of a street.
The 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Artis Ivey, is best-known for his hit song "Gangsta's Paradise." In Ivey's care, the arresting deputy found a semi-automatic pistol and a magazine containing 9 mm rounds, authorities said. He was booked and released into a friend's custody.
Meanwhile, Ol' Dirty Bastard, a member of the rap group Wu-Tang Clan whose real name is Russell T. Jones, was arrested early Thursday morning after "creating a disturbance" at the House of Blues nightclub, authorities say. Jones was apparently kicked out of the club because he was drunk and disorderly. As security guards ushered him out, deputies said, Jones "threatened to return and shoot and kill them." Deputies called to the scene arrested Jones, 29, for making terrorist threats and for an outstanding traffic warrant.

DULUTH, Minnesota (CNN) -- Folk poet Bob Dylan is finally going home. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter will play a concert in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 22, the first time he will have performed there since he hit it big in the early 1960s as the anti-establishment voice of a generation. Dylan, whose real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman, was born in Duluth and grew up in nearby Hibbing. Dylan won Grammys last February for best album and best contemporary folk album, for "Time Out of Mind." His many albums include "Blood on the Tracks," "Highway 61 Revisited," "Blonde On Blonde," and "Bringing It All Back Home."

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Pop singer Janet Jackson's latest album, "The Velvet Rope," has sold over 5 million copies, but no one is accusing her of getting complacent. In the October 1 issue of Rolling Stone, Jackson says a work ethic is in her genes.
"I always think of my mother, whom I adore, and the attitude
she expressed: 'Anything to make ends meet,'" she says. "When we lived in Gary, Indiana, when she already had given birth to nine children, she'd walk the winter streets to work at Sears. This was when my father worked in the steel plant. ... Work is in my blood. My response to adversity is always the same: Work harder."

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Ellen Degeneres will host the VH1 Fashion Awards, proving that you can still be in fashion even when your sitcom has been canceled.
The show is being taped October 23 and will air on the cable channel October 27. Among the celebrity presenters at the VH1 Fashion Awards will be Wesley Snipes, Rupert Everett, Courteney Cox, Salma Hayek and Claudia Schiffer. DeGeneres' sitcom "Ellen" ended this past season after it became the first to feature a gay character in a lead role. She was nominated for an Emmy for her work.
