Jackson

Plans still on for Jacko-land despite setback

WARSAW, Poland (CNN) -- The Polish Interior Ministry said no to building on a little used airport outside Warsaw, but Michael Jackson still plans a $500 million theme park in Poland. The pop star's lawyer, Amnon Shiboleth, said that Jackson is considering several new sites for the park. Jackson chose Poland for the facility, he said last year, because he was impressed by its growing population and the reception he received on his first visit to the former Communist nation.

Sex with Cindy Crawford

PASADENA, California (CNN) -- ABC hopes to draw in viewers to a new TV special with the tantalizing title "Sex with Cindy Crawford." Crawford hosts the special, which examines sexuality and how sexy images are used to market products. Said Crawford: "We want ratings." The special airs, not in the November sweeps period, but early in the new season on September 22.

Orbison

Orbison versus Sony

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (CNN) -- The estate of the late singer Roy Orbison has filed suit against Sony Music Entertainment, claiming the company owes it $12 million in royalties from international sales of Orbison's music. Orbison, whose hits include "Pretty Woman" and "Crying," is considered a superstar in Europe, according to the estate's attorney, Sam Lipshie. The lawsuit claims that Sony misrepresented record contracts and rates used to calculate payments of royalties. Orbison died in 1988.

Bird on a box

INDIANAPOLIS (CNN) -- Basketball coach Larry Bird has landed on a Wheaties box again. After coaching the Indiana Pacers to their best record ever in his first season as coach and being elected to the Hall of Fame, General Mills selected the former Boston Celtic to appear on boxes in the Indianapolis area and other parts of his native Indiana. Another version shows Bird in a playing uniform, and is for sale in the Boston area. Bird, who was named NBA coach of the year in May, first appeared on a Wheaties box in 1995.
