HOLLYWOOD, California (CNN)--"You've created a monster.. with some kind of formula from outer space.. and now the damn thing got away and you want us to hunt it down and kill it?" Michael Madsen is all worked up over an egg-laying temptress in the new movie "Species."
In human form, the monster helps poke a lot fun at modern
love as she desperately tries to impregnate herself.
In 'Species,' this dating game is about survival of the
fittest.

But much of Henstridge's alter ego is a special effect
conjured up on computer with direction from the maker of
"Alien." This presented a challenge for actors who often
faced a black screen or a crew member with a mop as a frame
of reference. "Hopefully that guy with the mop is, you know,
is an interesting guy. Hopefully, he can give me something.
Wave the mop around," quips Michael Madsen.
