HOLLYWOOD, California (CNN) -- Elizabeth Shue is headed to the Academy Awards gala. The actress will make her first performance on the Oscar show March 25 as a presenter. Shue has also been nominated in the "best actress" category for her role in "Leaving Las Vegas."
"Cheers" veteran George Wendt is making a guest appearance on "Good Company." The comedian will play himself in the episode as the agency tries to land the actor for a commercial. The episode will air Monday night.
Powerful women in the movies is the focus of "The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful," a documentary airing on Turner Network television. Laura San Giacomo narrates; Sharon Stone, Rosie O'Donnell, Glenn Close and Kathy Bates are among the commentators on archetypal women's roles.

Daily Variety reports that Jodie Foster has been offered the female lead in the thriller, "The Game." Michael Douglas is being considered for the male lead.
Joe Pesci is being considered for a role in the comedy "Jingle all the Way," which is in pre-production at 20th Century Fox. Daily Variety says the holiday comedy will star Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Greg Kinnear, whose movie career got a huge boost in "Sabrina," is back before the cameras. Shooting has begun on his second film, "Dear God," in Los Angeles, under veteran director Garry Marshall. The movie is about a con man working in the so-called dead letter office, who begins answering letters addressed to God.
Familiar music, and familiar images add up to new videos from the Beatles. VH1 plans to air three new Beatles videos. "Help" will feature film clips from the movie; "Eleanor Rigby" has visuals taken from the animated film "Yellow Submarine"; and "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" is highlighted with rarely seen footage of a live performance filmed in France in the early 1960s. The videos will begin airing in late March.
Naomi Judd, the retired half of the country singing duo "The Judds," has come out of retirement long enough to do some acting. Judd will play a psychiatrist in an upcoming episode of "The Client."

A star studded grand opening gala for the Planet Hollywood restaurant in Tel Aviv has been postponed. The celebrity- owned chain opened two weeks ago on the beachfront, but in the wake of recent terrorist bombings, the grand opening celebration was delayed. Spokesmen said such a glamorous event would be inappropriate under the circumstances. Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Brooke Shields will be among those appearing at the gala sometime in April.
Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men have finally been knocked out of first place on the Billboard Magazine Hot 100 Singles Chart. "One Sweet Day" set the record at 16 weeks in first place, but fell this week to fifth position.

No change in the schedule for "Seinfeld." Columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith report that the cast of the long-running comedy have decided to start shooting their ninth season in August as usual. There was some discussion of taking only a brief hiatus when the show wraps for the season this spring, so they could be finished by December.
A reunion for Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton. The performers have recorded voice tracks for an episode of the animated PBS series "The Magic School Bus." The episode will air during the holidays in late 1996. Tomlin and Parton worked together in the hit comedy film "9 to 5."
