Actor Michael Biehn has joined the cast of "The Rock." The Hollywood Reporter trade paper indicates Biehn will work with Nicholas Cage, Ed Harris, and Sean Connery in the thriller. The movie began shooting late last month.
Europe is a Gangsta's Paradise. The single from "Dangerous Minds" is number one on the continent, according to the Dutch magazine Music and Media.
Whitney Houston's single from the soundtrack to her film "Waiting to Exhale" is an instant hit. Billboard magazine reports the new single is debuting at number one this week, with sales of more than 126,000 copies.
Keenan Ivory Wayans is teaming up with Steven Seagal. Daily Variety's "Dish" column reports the actors will co-star in the action flick 'The Glimmer Man' for Warner Brothers.
Queen's last album is the top seller in Europe. Music and Media magazine reports "Made in Heaven" is the top-selling album on the continent this week. The album features the last songs written by and the last vocal tracks recorded by the late Freddy Mercury, the band's mainstay.
It was a hot debut for the new Alice in Chains album. The grunge band's new release made its debut in the top slot of the Billboard album charts this week. The third album in three weeks to make its opening appearance in first place.
Val Kilmer has a new hero role. Daily Variety reports the actor will star in the film version of "The Saint" playing Detective Simon Templar. Phillip Noyes will direct the film for Paramount.
The Boss is getting ready for the road. Bruce Springsteen is preparing an acoustic tour of the United States. The opening dates will be played in Los Angeles in late November. Springsteen's unplugged show will also hit Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, Philadelphia and New York. The Hollywood Reporter indicates it's Springsteen's first tour since 1993.
