The Beatles

Court says no to sale of drunken Beatles CD

LONDON (CNN) -- The surviving members of the Beatles and John Lennon's widow have prevailed in court, stopping the distribution of a drunken Beatles performance recorded 35-years ago in a German club.

George Harrison testified at Wednesday's trial, calling the recording one of the "crummiest" ever made of the Beatles.

The company that planned to sell a CD of the performance claimed Lennon had given permission to use the recording.

Jackson

Jacko mulls casino idea

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (CNN) -- Pop icon Michael Jackson is shopping for land to build a casino, hotel and theme park complex in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to a report Friday in the "Virgin Islands Daily News."

Jackson met with officials Thursday in the islands, and inspected a 600-acre site in St. Croix.

"It will be something very special for the people," Jackson said of his as-yet-completed plans for the complex.

Streisand

One-of-a-kind Streisand museum closes

SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) -- A one-time fan of singer-actress-producer Barbra Streisand said he is closing his Streisand museum in San Francisco's Castro district because he's fed up with the superstar and her "people," who he said "have rejected this from the start."

Ken Joachim opened his museum two years ago, displaying tapes of Streisand's greatest hits, the star's dry-cleaning receipts, clothing from movies, and a room where a black and white television constantly plays Streisand's 1965 television special.

But the Streisand fans didn't share Joachim's apparent worship and did not flock to the museum -- and Joachim complains that he received no support from Streisand herself, aside from a short "thank you" note that is also on display.

Heche

Heche to take on Janet Leigh role in 'Psycho' remake

HOLLYWOOD (CNN) -- Anne Heche will reportedly take on Janet Leigh's memorable role in Imagine Entertainment's remake of the Alfred Hitchcock thriller "Psycho," to be directed by Gus Van Sant. Van Sant is expected to begin shooting this summer.

Julianne Moore is also reportedly in the cast to play Heche's sister.

Heche will be appearing this summer in "6 Days, 7 Nights" with Harrison Ford, and can be seen in other films, including "Wag the Dog," "Donnie Brasco," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Volcano."

Reuters and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
