Duchovny wants 'X-Files' in L.A.

"The X-Files" star David Duchovny is pressuring creators of
the show to move production from Vancouver, Canada, to Los
Angeles. Duchovny says that he wants to be closer to his
wife, actress Tea Leoni, who stars in NBC's "The Naked
Truth."

Actress Heather Locklear and her husband, musician Richie
Sambora, are new parents. The "Melrose Place" star gave
birth Saturday to the couple's first baby, a daughter named
Ava Elizabeth Sambora. Perfect timing for Locklear, who just
finished shooting her episodes of "Melrose Place" two weeks
ago. She's expected back on the set in January.

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi's musical career may be cooling down, but
his acting career is heating up. Daily Variety reports the
singer signed a deal Monday to develop, star and write the
music for a romantic comedy called "Love Hurts." Jerry
Bruckheimer will produce the film, which is set in the world
of bar bands.

The Spice Girls continue to spice up the music arena. The
British pop quintet previewed their second album Monday in
Granada, Spain. The band will officially release "Spice
World" on November 3 and promises the album contains "a bit
of everything."

The next "Lethal Weapon" could feature some lethal laughs now
that comedian Chris Rock has closed a deal to co-star in the
film. According to Daily Variety, Rock will be paid a "low
seven figure" salary to star in "Lethal Weapon 4." The
comedian will play a young cop who becomes romantically
involved with Danny Glover's daughter in the film.

Quentin Tarantino may be headed to Broadway this spring.
Reports say the acclaimed director will star opposite
Jennifer Jason Leigh in a revival of the drama, "Wait Until
Dark." The play originally opened on Broadway in 1966 with
Lee Remick in the starring role.
The Rowan Atkinson comedy "Bean" has bagged the opening slot
at the first annual New York Comedy Film Festival. The
festival runs October 23-26 at the New York Film Academy and
will feature more than 50 comedy films in 13 categories.
Daily Variety reports actor Ethan Hawke is in serious talks
to star in the film adaptation of "Snow Falling on Cedars."
The film, based on David Guterson's popular novel, is slated
to start shooting in February. Hawke makes his return to the
big screen October 24 in "Gattaca."
