Steve Martin has taken over John Travolta's role in "The Double." The Hollywood Reporter says the script writer and comedian will play a man haunted by his double. Shooting is set to begin shortly in France under director Roman Polanski. John Goodman and Isabelle Adjani also star.
In "The Twilight Man," Tim Matheson loses control of his life to a sinister hacker. The original film is only the third first-run feature created for "Starz" cable network. The film stars Matheson and Dean Stockwell.
Celebrities played tennis for a good cause in the Dominican Republic last week in the ninth annual Rene Enriquez celebrity tournament. They then sat down to dinner and trophies. The invitational competition co-hosted by General Motors raised $125,000 for children's charities in Mexico.
Just when you thought talk shows were dead, Rosie O'Donnell comes along. The actress's talk show premiered Monday with a 4.4 rating and a 16 share. That's the highest first-day rating for any talk show in the last 10 years.

Jean Claude Van Damme joins the French Foreign Legion in an upcoming film. Daily Variety says the actor will star in a movie about the legendary fighting unit. Several studios are talking with Van Damme and his partners about the flick.

The TV show "Dallas" may be dead here, but it's about to be a big hit in Russia. The 1980s soap is about to air on Russian prime time television. Five episodes of the series aired in 1991, and they were a big ratings hit. Now the entire run is on the schedule in Moscow.

The missing half of Milli Vanilli has resurfaced. Rob Pilatus vanished from a drug treatment facility in Los Angeles earlier this week, but reappeared at another one, according to his attorney. Pilatus may have violated the terms of his probation for changing his court-ordered rehabilitation. A hearing will be held later this month.
"The New Edition" has reunited. The singing group that launched some of the hottest performers of the 90s has recorded a reunion album called "Home Again." It will be released in September. The first single, "Hit Me Off" is due in mid-July.
