(CNN) -- A few years ago, early digital "morph" effects took the special effects world by storm. Now, last year's miracle is this year's toy.

A new program called "Power Goo" allows kids to distort and twist images into different shapes and sizes. (1.1M QuickTime movie)

"We're now making technology available to kids," says Carol Ellison from Home PC Magazine, "because that tends to be the way kids play."

Users can use their own pictures or those provided by the program. They can even make moving morph files with "Goo."

Metatools, the maker of "Goo," usually makes high powered image tools for professionals. So, in the graphics world this is a little like giving junior the keys to a Ferrari. "Power Goo" is available for $50.
