Kevin Costner will soon return to the silver screen. The actor has sealed a deal to star in "The Postman," a futuristic thriller not to be confused with the Oscar nominated film "Il Postino." Shooting begins in January.
The three tenors take their show to pay-per-view. Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras will reunite for a live concert from Giants stadium July 20. Request TV and TVKO will carry the event at a cost of $29.95 for viewers.
Wal-Mart is yanking "A Boy Named Goo" by the Goo Goo Dolls off its shelves. The store's customers complained about the album cover, which depicts a baby covered with berry juice. Apparently, the customers mistook the goo for blood.
Two firefighters from Buffalo will be awarded damages in their suit against the makers of "Backdraft." A judge ruled in favor of the two because defense attorneys for the filmmakers dragged their feet too long on the case. The amount of damages has yet to be decided.
The Fugees are number one on the album charts for the fourth straight week. According to Soundcan, Alanis Morrissette is in second place, followed by Celine Dion, Tracey Chapman and Soundgarden.
It's a boy! Pamela Anderson Lee and Tommy Lee are celebrating the birth of their son, Brandon Thomas Lee. The 7-pound, 7-ounce baby boy was born Wednesday.
The greenhouse where Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain committed suicide will be torn down. Rocker Courtney Love, Cobain's widow, says the location draws more visitors than the Space Needle. She hopes tearing down the building will cut down on the number of visiting fans.
"Jumanji" is the biggest home video rental according to the video software dealer's association. "Goldeneye" is number two on the list, followed by "The American President," "Casino" and "The Money Train."
Singer Gloria Estefan and Sears-Roebuck are kicking off a $1 million youth empowerment campaign called "Oye!" The program will award grants to aid young people in the 34 cities on Estefan's summer concert tour. Sears is the sole sponsor of the tour.
