Sigourney Weaver is taking a break from battling aliens to do a little stage work in New York. The Hollywood Reporter says Weaver will star in the Christopher Durang play, "Sex and Longing" at the Cort Theater on Broadway late this summer. Weaver finish in time to star in "Alien Four: Resurrection" in September with Winona Ryder.
Well, it's summer and you know what that means ... time for another "Vacation." Columnist Army Archerd says Chevy Chase will star in "National Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation." The comedy will take Chase all over the gambling capital, even on stage with Siegfried and Roy.
Rita Rudner will get to see her script come to life later this month on the USA Network. "A Weekend in the Country" is a romantic comedy starring Jack Lemmon, Richard Lewis, Faith Ford and Dudley Moore. The show airs June 12.
Diane Keaton has agreed to team up with Walt Disney Studios. The actress/filmmaker reportedly has entered into a first-look agreement with Disney Pictures for films she will produce or direct.

The artist once known as Prince will journey into cyberspace and showcase some new tunes. His single, "Dinner with Delores," can be heard via RealAudio on the Warner Brothers Records page starting Friday. For those of you with more traditional listening equipment, his purpleness's album, "Chaos and Disorder," will hit record stores in early July.

No word yet on whether John Travolta is in or out of "The Double." Sources quoted by Daily Variety say the actor stormed out of a meeting with director Roman Polanski because of "creative differences" and left Paris two weeks before shooting was to begin. The production company claims the story is overblown, saying Travolta left because his son is sick. Officials said he still plans to star in the thriller.
Kelsey Grammar has received UCLA's "Jack Benny" award for outstanding achievement in comedy. Johnny Carson, Steve Martin, George Burns and Lily Tomlin are past winners.

Heavy metal band Metallica took to the road on a flatbed truck to promote its new album this week. The group performed songs outside record stores in San Francisco and Sacramento to drum up interest in its new album, "Load."

Howard Rollins Jr. will make a guest appearance on the American Movie Channel's original series, "Remember WENN." The show takes viewers back to the golden age of radio.
