German audiences are saying "auf wiedersehen" to "Tommy." The German version of the rock opera is closing because of slow ticket sales. The show, based on the 60s rock opera, has been running in Frankfurt. The Hollywood Reporter says ticket sales are about one-third of projections.
Dana Carvey's bad news is good news for Ellen Degeneres. The Hollywood Reporter says "Ellen" will take over the time slot vacated by "The Dana Carvey Show." Unaired episodes of "Ellen" will be broadcast on Tuesday nights for the remainder of May sweeps.

Bruce Willis thinks Boise, Idaho, needs a hot night spot. The actor already has a nightclub in Sun Valley, Idaho, and now plans to build another Mint Lounge in Boise. B.B. King and Bo Diddley have appeared at Willis' club -- so has the actor's own band, The Accelerators.
If you thought teen-age crooner Brandy was young, wait until you hear the new vocalist on Gloria Estefan's album. The singer is 16-month old Emily Estefan, who sings along in one part of "Along Came You." The song, dedicated to the singer's young daughter, is a lullaby.
k.d. Lang has a glamorous and socially conscious new sponsor. The singer has made an agreement with M-A-C cosmetics and the "Viva Glam" lipstick campaign. M-A-C donates a substantial amount of "Viva Glam" money to organizations that fight AIDS.

Michael Jackson is touring Europe, but he won't be stopping in Germany. A German newspaper quotes Jackson's manager as saying the singer would be a victim of a new German tax on performing artists if he appeared there. The taxes could eat up concert profits, he said.
Actor George.C. Scott is leaving the cast of "Inherit the Wind." Scott recently left the stage during a performance because of ill health. He has returned to California for treatment of an acute heart problem. Understudy Tony Randall has taken over the part for the rest of the show's run. Scott was nominated for a Tony for his performance.
