HOLLYWOOD, California (CNN) -- He may not have won the Republican nomination, but he was a shoo-in for host of "Saturday Night Live." Steve Forbes will host the veteran comedy show on April 13. And as can be expected, the SNL crew has promised that this episode is laden with political humor.

Good news for fans of "The Drew Carey Show." The situation comedy seems headed back to the ABC prime time schedule. Daily Variety reports the show is expected to resurface on Wednesday nights as part of a reshuffling of the lineup.
Is it art imitating life or life imitating art on the season finale of "Almost Perfect"? The finale will feature the characters worrying about whether the show-within-a-show "Blue Justice" will be renewed. At the same time, Daily Variety notes, the cast and crew of the CBS sitcom are in the dark as to whether or not CBS will be renewing "Almost Perfect."
After years of "Northern Exposure," Barry Corbin is headed south. The actor is set to star in a series version of the mystery film "The Big Easy" filmed in New Orleans. Shooting on the USA Network series begins this month while a debut is scheduled for August.
Stephen Rea and Isabella Rosellini are teaming up for a new film for HBO pictures. The Hollywood Reporter trade paper indicates the pair will star in "Crime of the Century," based on the Lindbergh kidnapping.

The last episode ever of "Murder She Wrote" is in production this week in Los Angeles, but don't expect a lot of publicity. A spokesman for Universal television say executive producer Angela Lansbury is doing her best to keep the wrap-up an intimate one for the cast and crew, many of whom have been with the show for its entire 12-year run. The final episode will air on CBS in mid-May.
Band leader Carlos Santana has been chosen as the recipient of the annual Billboard Magazine "Century" award to be given out at the Billboard awards ceremony in December. Previous winners include rock legend George Harrison, singer and composer Joni Mitchell and blues man Buddy Guy.
