The group Genesis may soon be grooving to a different beat, one without drummer and lead singer Phil Collins. Collins is going solo, and the band is looking for someone to step into his shoes. Genesis faced similar problems 20 years ago when then lead singer Peter Gabriel left the group to pursue a solo career.
The story of legendary college basketball Coach Jim Valvano will soon fill up the small screen. Actor Anthony La Paglia will play Valvano in "Never Give Up -- The Jimmy V. Story" that airs next week on CBS. The picture will show Valvano's battles to reach the NCAA championships as well as his private fight with cancer.

Actor William Hurt may be one of the stars of "Jane Eyre," but don't expect him to do cartwheels over it. "Creative differences" is the reason. Reportedly Hurt and director Franco Zeffirelli had a stormy rapport on the set, according to "Daily Variety," as well as differing views on how Hurt's role as Rochester was to be played. In the end, the director prevailed, but Hurt wasn't happy.
The entertainment industry's big awards may be over, but some of the smaller ones are making news, too. Harvey Keitel will receive the first-ever "San Francisco International Film Festival" award for work that "exemplifies brilliance, independence and integrity." At the same festival, director Arthur Penn will get the Akira Kurosawa Lifetime Achievement Award. The film festival opens in mid-April.

The next "Star Trek" movie is in pre-production, but the script doesn't involve a promotion for the Enterprise's first officer. The actor who plays Commander Riker does get to take command of the intergalactic battleship, but it's only temporary. Jonathon Frakes will direct the movie that's being called "Star Trek -- Generations 2."
Singer Wynonna is at the top of the charts. The country singer's single "To Be Loved by You" is No. 1 on the Billboard country singles chart this week.
