Tight security at GOP debate
COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) -- The security at this debate seems closer to that of a general election debate rather than an early primary debate a full eight months before the first votes are cast. There appear to be more security personnel than at the first Republican debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California. Getting around this debate site has also been much more difficult. Of course, location could have something to do with it. The Reagan Library sits atop a mountain far from the public, and there's only one main road in and out. The Koger Center, where tonight's debate is being held, is in the middle of Columbia, the Palmetto State capital. -- CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser
