Huckabee defends tax hikes
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Gov. Mike Huckabee defended himself for raising taxes while serving as governor of Arkansas, saying that he actually cut taxes 94 times during his term in office.
"Yes, we raised gasoline taxes in my state to build a road program that we desperately needed," Huckabee said. "But 80 percent of the people of my state voted for it. Do I apologize for going along with what 80 percent of the people of my state supported? No." -- CNN Associate Producer Lauren Kornreich
