Brownback on abortion: no exception for rape victims
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, an opponent of abortion in all circumstances except to save the mother's life, said even the child of a rape victim should be considered a "viable life."
"What are we doing? We talk about abortion, but abortion is a procedure," Brownback said. "This is a life that we're talking about, and it's a terrible situation where there is a rape that is involved or incest. But it nonetheless remains that this is a child that we are talking about doing this to, ending the life of this child." -- CNN Associate Producer Lauren Kornreich
