Murtha denounces Bush's veto threat
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, denounced the president's threat to veto an Iraq spending measure that includes a mandatory withdrawal deadline, in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux Thursday.
"If he vetoes this Iraq accountability act, he's vetoing money that would go to Walter Reed, vetoing money that would go to health care, for posttraumatic stress, money that would go to brain injury," Murtha said. "Money that's needed for training, and equipment. He's sending units back with inadequate training. We are saying that the president has to be accountable." |
