Mikulski backs Clinton
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski threw her support behind Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign Tuesday.
"I have only the greatest respect for our field of Democratic candidates, but today I am proud to endorse Sen. Clinton for president," Mikulski said in a statement Tuesday. "Hillary is the leader who will put this nation back on track, whether it's ending the war in Iraq, providing educational opportunities for our children, restoring our standing in the world or addressing our increasing deficit." First elected to the Senate in 1986, Mikulski -- the unofficial "dean" of women senators -- will also serve as a chair of Clinton's presidential campaign. -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
