Dems hope for continued 'conversation' after meeting with Bush
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said they remained hopeful a compromise would be reached. "Each side was very clear with its position, but that doesn't mean that that's the end of the conversation," Pelosi said. "And that is what is known as negotiation in government - it's not just one meeting." "He's going to get a bill and he has to look at that and I hope he would have the -- he and his people that work with him give us a call and say you know, maybe this isn't so bad after all," Reid added.
