Crowley: No real winner in Democratic debate
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Who was the winner in this debate? According to CNN Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, no one.
"I'm not sure there was a stand-out in this," she said. "I thought it was a pretty mellow debate. You didn't see any blood spilled. You didn't see any real confrontation." "There was some at the end, but it wasn't the kind of thing that you get in the heat of the moment when a primary election is about to come up. I think what this debate did was serve that beginning mark for these Democrats." She added, "For some of them, this is the broadest audience they've ever had, and that includes their announcement speeches. This is the beginning of a process. There will be many more debates to come. I don't think this was a debate that had a stand-out." |
