Tancredo: Pelosi thinks she is a general in Iraq
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colorado, sharply criticized the Democrats' Iraq war supplemental bill that barely passed the House Friday, and accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, of acting as if she is a "general."

"I am not a general, neither is General Pelosi, even though she thinks she is," Tancredo, who is seeking the GOP presidential nomination, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "You know, the folks here in this building are not the people who should be micromanaging this war." (Watch video: Tancredo: Dems micro-managing war)

The Colorado Republican, known being one of the most vocal advocates of a strict overhaul of the nation's immigration laws, also reiterated his call for Attorney Gen. Alberto Gonzales to resign, but not for his actions in the controversial firings of eight U.S. attorneys.

"He has, in fact, ignored the laws that are on the books in regards illegal immigration in about 10 different ways," Tancredo said. "That's why I believe he should be gone. He has misused the resources of his office, he has used the money in his office to actually go after drug dealers in Mexico, bring them back here to testify against the border patrolmen."

Tancredo has yet to formally announce his presidential bid, but earlier Friday his campaign announced it had signed on veteran GOP strategist Bay Buchanan.
