Obama denies involvement in Clinton ad spoof
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, denied Monday his campaign was involved in the production of a new political video critical of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, that is posted on the popular website http://www.youtube.com
"We knew nothing about it. I just saw it for the first time," Obama said in an interview scheduled to air Monday on CNN's Larry King Live. "And you know one of the things about the Internet is that people generate all kinds of stuff. In some ways it's the democratization of the campaign process." Obama and Clinton are both seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. The video shows an image of Clinton speaking with scores of people walking towards her image shown on a large screen and listening with blank expressions on their faces. It follows the same script as an Apple Computer commercial that was a take-off on the novel "1984" by George Orwell. Obama also told CNN's Larry King that he thinks Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign his post in light of the U.S. attorney scandal and spoke on the Iraq war.(Watch Video: The next president?) -- CNN Political Editor Mark Preston |
