McCain makes 'March Madness' picks

McCain picked North Carolina to go all the way.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Many consider him to be a political maverick, but when it comes to making his college basketball picks, Arizona Sen. John McCain bets on the safe side.

The GOP presidential candidate has picked the four number one teams -- Kansas, Florida, Ohio State, and North Carolina -- to reach the final four, according to a bracket posted on the senator's presidential campaign website.

As for which team he thinks will win it all, McCain chooses North Carolina (neighboring state to crucial primary state South Carolina) over Kansas.

In early round upsets, McCain picks No. 10 Gonzaga over No 7 Indiana, No. 10 Georgia Tech over No. 7 UNLV and No. 9 Michigan State of No. 8 Marquette.

Meanwhile, according to U.S. News and World Report, former President Bill Clinton thinks his alma mater No. 2 Georgetown has a good shot of going all the way.
