Gore heads to House floor
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore stopped by the House floor Wednesday, a chamber he served in for eight years before moving over to the Senate and his eventual election to the White House.
Gore, who is testifying on Capitol Hill about global warming, walked onto the floor with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, to a standing ovation from his fellow Democrats. The former vice president, who narrowly lost his own presidential bid in 2000, was seen shaking hands and hugging the lawmakers during the middle of a vote on the Katrina housing bill.(Related video: Gore calls for action in congressional testimony) -- CNN Congressional Producer Deirdre Walsh
