Forbes endorses Giuliani

The two appeared together in Australia in 2005.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Prominent businessman and magazine publisher Steve Forbes has endorsed former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's bid for the GOP presidential nomination, according to a campaign spokesperson.

The two appeared together Wednesday morning to ring the opening bell at the NASDAQ.

Forbes ran unsuccessfully for the GOP presidential nomination in 1996 and 2000.

A formal endorsement announcement is expected later Wednesday.
