Reporters evacuated from offices a block from White House
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Reporters who cover the White House were inconvenienced for about a half hour Friday when authorities decided to evacuate the Jackson Place conference center, about a block from the White House.
The decision to evacuate came after a dog alerted handlers after sniffing what was described as an item. After a check, nothing amiss was found. The White House was not affected, and the White House itself was not evacuated. Jackson Place is the building where the White House reporters are working during renovations to the White House press room. |
