Snow optimistic about Dems' response to Bush's Iraq plan
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- White House Press Secretary Tony Snow brushed aside suggestions Monday that President Bush's reported plan to call for an increase of U.S. troops in Iraq would be met with strong opposition from Congressional Democratic leaders. "I think what will happen is that when the President's plan becomes known in detail, then people will be able to talk sensibly about the details and about how the pieces fit together," Snow said when asked about the likelihood Democrat's will accept the president's plan. Snow added Bush has worked hard to consult Democrats as he crafts a new way forward. "The president continues to reach out," Snow said. "A number of members of Congress on both sides said they want to take a good, hard look at it, as they should, and as we invite them to do." Full briefing -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
