McConnell says 'vast majority' of Republicans behind Bush's Iraq plan
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, told CNN Tuesday "the vast majority" of Republicans will stand behind President Bush when he renews his call for a troop increase in Iraq during his State of the Union address.
"The vast majority of Republicans would like to see this be given a chance to succeed," McConnell told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "I think we do agree this is the last chance for the Iraqis to get it right." -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
