McConnell: Give plan a chance
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, expressed his support of President Bush's call for an increase in Iraq troops Thursday and said the Congress should give the new plan a chance to succeed.
"I think the president should be given a chance to carry this out, rather than condemn it before it even starts," McConnell said in a speech on the Senate floor. "It seems to me it would be appropriate to give it a chance to succeed." -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
