Hastert recovering after gall-bladder surgery
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois, recently underwent surgery to remove his gall bladder, according to a statement from his office.
Hastert's office did not provide details of the surgery or say when it took place, only stating that it was conducted at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. "Hastert is expected to make a full recovery and looks forward to resuming his regular schedule and returning to his duties representing the 14th Congressional District," the statement said. -- CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
