Dodd runs to the beat of his own 'tunes'
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- What can Chris Dodd's iPod tell us about the presidential campaign he plans to run?
Since June, the Connecticut Democrat's campaign Web site has featured the "Dodd Pod," highlighting some of the senator's favorite songs. After announcing his candidacy this morning, the Dodd Pod is today featuring Jon Fogerty's baseball anthem "Centerfield" (chorus: "Put me in coach, I'm ready to play, today.") Yesterday, in a possible prelude to President Bush's speech on Iraq, Dodd -- a Peace Corps veteran -- was playing Jackson Browne's anti-war ballad "Lives in the Balance," with the ominous lyrics: "By all I know is right/We're going to reap what we have sown." Dodd voted for the resolution to go to war with Iraq in 2002. Other songs that could play on the stump include "Man of God" by Eliza Gilkyson, "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," by the Temptations, and "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. The most popular artist? Bobby Darin, who campaigned for Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, has appeared on the Dodd Pod 14 times since June. The Dodd Pod was created as "a new and novel way to stay connected with friends and family while traveling," a Dodd spokesperson says. The senator's office tells CNN that Dodd has an iPod Nano. -- From CNN's Peter Hamby
