Bush proposes eliminating budget deficit within 5 years
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush said Tuesday he will submit a budget that eliminates the federal deficit within the next five years in the coming weeks in his annual State of the Union address.
"I ask you to make the same commitment," Bush told members of Congress. "Together, we can restrain the spending appetite of the federal government, and balance the federal budget." Bush's full remarks |
