Bush asks with Congress for debate on immigration reform
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Saying the United States cannot secure its borders unless it takes the pressure off them, President Bush in his annual State of the Union address to members of Congress asked for "a serious, civil and conclusive debate" over immigration reform.

"And we need to resolve the status of the illegal immigrants who are already in the country -- without animosity and without amnesty." Bush called for a "legal and orderly" path for foreign workers to enter the country on a temporary basis. Bush's full remarks |
